The fruits of Pitaya (Dragon fruit) are with a high content of vitamin C, vitamin E and mineral substances – zinc, fluorine, calcium, magnesium, unsaturated fatty acids (palmitic, linoleic, oleic and stearic acid). They contain antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids, too.
The beneficial effect on the digestive system is also associated with the content of oligosaccharides. They improve digestion and support the “health” of the intestinal tract. These oligosaccharides act as prebiotics (substances that stimulate the maintenance of a balanced microflora) and contribute to the regulation of overweight.
