Red clover contains isoflavones – isoflavones daidzein, genistein, biochanin A, and formononetin (biochanin B). The isoflavones in Red Clover cause estrogen-like effects in the body. This is the reason for benefits of the herb on reducing the symptoms of menopause – hot flushes, sweating, weight control, and bone density. Researches confirm that the use of the herb helps reduce the risk of developing osteoporosis. Isoflavones in Red Clover are the “cause” of maintaining HDL (good) cholesterol in women before and after menopause.
The herb also contains calcium, chromium, magnesium, niacin, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine and vitamin C, which contribute to the successful implementation in various physiological conditions.
Red clover is used for menopausal symptoms and hot flashes, cyclic breast pain or tenderness (mastalgia).
